RECENT WORK: ICAS/Juntos Adelante

Juntos Adelante promotes the just distribution of health, financial, intellectual, and artistic resources, abundant in the developed world, to women-owned and operated organizations and businesses in developing nations. The Mama Licha project—a collaboration with a Nicaraguan midwife—supports the provision of critical health care to Nicaraguan women and children through essential pre-natal care, pediatric care and vaccinations, gynecological services and low risk deliveries. The clinic also serves as an exchange opportunity for international health care professionals and students.

The absent object of graphic design writing

Vanessa Corrêa and Stuart Kendall delivered this paper as part of Design(ing) Criticism, a panel moderated by Carma Gorman and Elizabeth Guffey, at the College Art Association Annual Meeting in Boston. The other panelists were Johanna Drucker, Dennis Doordan, Denise Gonzalez Crisp, and Bruce King Shey.

RECENT WORK: UIC Graduate College

Seeking to connect with alumni, prospective students, friends of the College and donors, the Graduate College at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) engaged Kanan Design to create an annual newsletter. Using the modern and urban look of the University itself as a starting point, our team created a fresh, modular approach that expressed the global reach and vibrancy of the College.

ACS BRANDING — Rush University Medical Center has retained Kanan Design to develop an identity for one of the medical center’s premier giving organizations, The Anchor Cross Society. Look for a new identity to launch in Spring 2009.
